Unwrapping the gift by double-clicking it will yield one of the following items:

• Common (25%):
  • Eggnog
  • Snowman Summoner
  • Spiked Eggnog
• Uncommon (20%):
  • Peppermint Candy Cane
• Rare (5%):
  • Candy Cane Shard

During Wintersday 2005, the first Wintersday event, two versions of Winter Gifts were available.

• The "good" Winter Gift could be obtained from Wintersday collectors who supported Dwayna, winning a Dwayna Vs Grenth snowball fight, or giving a present to a Young Child in Lion's Arch.
  • The "good" rewards were mostly identical to the current Winter Gift.
• The "bad" Winter Gift could be obtained from Wintersday collectors who supported Grenth or by losing a Dwayna Vs Grenth snowball fight.
  • These gifts would most often cause a small green explosion when opened, although they could also contain a Candy Cane Shard or Lump of Charcoal.
