The Winter Gift is an item only available during the Wintersday event.
There are two types of Winter Gifts. While identical in name and appearance, their stacks in the inventory will not mingle.
This Winter Gift, in the Wintersday 2006, Wintersday 2007, and Wintersday 2008 events, is obtained only by collecting a present from the ground and giving it to Scrappy Jhim in Lion's Arch, in which he will give you one back to open to get a random item. This is not to be confused with a Wintersday Gift, which was dropped at the end of the three-hourly events during the Wintersday Finale.

Obtained from:
- Wintersday collectors supporting Dwayna (2005)
- Winning games in Dwayna Vs Grenth (2005)
- Giving a Present to Scrappy Jhim in Lions Arch (2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008)
Unwrapping the gift by double-clicking it will yield one of the following items: Eggnog (2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008), Spiked Eggnog (2005, 2006 ,2007, and 2008), Peppermint Candy Cane (2006, 2007, and 2008), Snowman Summoner (2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008) or relatively rarely a Rainbow Candy Cane (2006, 2007, and 2008), Candy Cane Shard (2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008) or a Yuletide Tonic (2006, 2007, and 2008).
For Wintersday 2006 and the years after, they contain one of the following items when opened:
- 1 Eggnogs (21.8%)
- 1 Peppermint Candy Cane (23.3%)
- 1 Spiked Eggnogs (25.9%)
- 1 Snowman Summoner (23.1%)
- 1 Candy Cane Shards (5.9%)
Note: Percentages in parenthesis related to item likelihood are not official but estimates based on opening a total of 2053 gifts (after January 1st, in case that affects the percentages).

- Losing games in Dwayna Vs Grenth (2005)
Unwrapping the gift by double-clicking it will mostly result in a harmless, green explosion. It may also yield either a Lump of Charcoal or a Candy Cane Shard.
