In Buddhism there is a study of ideas called "The way of the Lotus". It focuses on the concept of using wisdom to bring the individual his happiness and bliss and enables him to realise the truth and reality of the universe and attain perfection. Which in essence could be similar to a natural self energy, which has some relation to the skills effect.
