[edit] Hi
I was reading through some random thread of Gaile's talkpage on GWW and I saw you left a comment about "admins that don't like you (I'm looking at you, Entropy.)" or something to that extent. It was a pretty old comment though, I think...anyway, I was just wondering if I somehow offended you in someway long time ago that I don't remember. If so, I apologize, even though I don't know what it was...

- I posted an AB build that my Alliance ([Sins] back when they controlled HzH) liked alot, and you basically called me a nooblet for liking the skill Melandru's Resilience, saying that AB wasnt really pvp, and various negative things along that line.--Ryudo 23:37, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- The truth isn't negative. It hurts sometimes, but it's only negative if you're looking at it wrong. -Auron 23:41, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- My build pwns..and holy crap Auron, you follow me everywhere, lol.--Ryudo 23:42, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
- I don't remember stuff from back before the Builds Wipe, so thanks for reminding me. That has absolutely no reflection on your character as a GWikian though, so don't think I'm biased against you or anything...I just take your PvP advice with a grain of salt. :) Same for ppl who support Wammos but are otherwise good contributors. GW in-game and GWiki out-of-game are separate worlds.

- Grow up Raptors. If he didn't want it on the official wiki, then you have no reason to believe that he wants it here, too. And since you MUST realize that already, all this is is trolling. I don't want that much drama at this wiki plzkthnx.--

- Hi, just found out you were on this wiki- I say that Raptors should have been permanantly banned for the bullying he did on GWW. Goes to show really, how much better this site is. Best of luck with your future editing! --

- Raptors got a 1 year ban, which he can ignore through that plague of the wiki, the proxy. Lord of all tyria 23:23, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Plus the fact that CA, Eloc, and yo ich seem to basically grovel for the guy (imho). @warwick: yeah, Ive been on this wiki just over a year now, but I dont do much editing.--Ryudo 23:24, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hehe
I was naughty (by someones definition) and got banned from other wiki. pretty unfair imho..--Ryudo 23:36, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

- Tanetris doesnt like me and blocked me for a stupid reason. for 3 days too.--Ryudo 23:52, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
- I agree it was unfair for you to get blocked for 3 days and they did not like that I was disagreeing with a sysops actions so they decided to tell me about it. *Sigh* Sometimes I wonder about GWW, people are nice there but they go over the top sometimes :P lol :) --Shadowphoenix 00:32, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- They dont mind you as long as your a good sheep and do what the mighty admins say you should. Why do you think its always the same people that are admins?--Ryudo 00:36, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- I like most of the admins, but lately I have been noticing an increase in "Do what the admins say, and deal with it" attitude. :P --Shadowphoenix 00:38, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thats why I try not to get caught up in wiki politics but this kougar thing was so fucked up I couldnt help it. Auron commits worse NPA on a DAILY basis, and no one fucks with him cause they like him. CA has gotten blocked and circumvented 2x, and theres never been talk of a perma ban. Eloc get in trouble for NPA all the time, and he usually never gets more than a 1 day ban. Its biased to the extreme.--Ryudo 00:43, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- I want to not agree so bad, but I can't. Kougar by no means deserves a perma. ban for what he did, I may not agree with the actions he took; but I do not support a perma. ban for him. Well Auron... I am not gonna even comment on that one :P --Shadowphoenix 00:46, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Always the same people that are admins? Uh no. Tanetris wasn't an admin anywhere, neither was Ab.er.rant. Anja wasn't (although she did some stuff here while the wiki was basically adminless, but for a short while), Poke wasn't, Galil wasn't, heck, I wasn't. There's no talk for a perma ban on CA because he doesn't need a permanent ban; the only people saying Kougar needs a permanent ban are the people who think a ban solves everything -- let me tell you, it doesn't. -- Brains12 \ Talk 01:10, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- The point I was trying to make is that its always people of the "in" crowd, so to speak, that are admins. And no, CA is vastly more disruptive than productive, hes just friends with lots of people. And you cleverly ignored everythign I said about eloc and Auron. And these are just the ones I notice.
Why didnt CA get a warning for calling kougar a nerd, hm? And theres the fact that tan banned me about 1/2 an hour AFTER I stopped. And all that shit about trolling other peoples pages was false too. Tanteris was edgy, wanted someone to swing a banhammer at, and I was the closest one. Thats the bottom line.--Ryudo 01:21, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I forgot to mention that barely anything was said to Aiiane after she decided to start deleting stuff she didnt like. Id say thats far worse than some vague, undirected NPA.--Ryudo 01:24, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
The point we (or me) are trying to get across is that if you want to object an admin's actions, you should be allowed to. If Guild Wars Wiki is so democratic why are we not alowed to do that without someone saying it unconstructive? --Shadowphoenix 01:27, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Heres tans reason for blocking me: "Trolling, NPA regardless of "censoring" particular words, and general asshattery, including on J.Kougar's Arbitration and various users' talk pages"
That wasnt so much a trolling as a heated conversation, and if people had stopped aruging against my point of view, I would have stopped back. NPA isnt NPA if its not directed (which it wasnt, I didnt say anyones names) and Id say that censoring words on top of that made it even more so. I sure as hell didnt do "general asshattery" on "various users talkpages"... I did a joke on one, and signed another.--Ryudo 01:31, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Lets not forget that fact that shadow was basically told "stfu" when she said it was a bit harsh, and the fact that I myself was not warned I would be blocked, nor given a chance to defend against OBVIOUSLY false accusations. The only reason Im not proxying and protesting on tans talk page is because I saw what happened when Kougar did it.--Ryudo 01:33, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
I was edit conflicted, so I'll respond with what I had when I last saw the comments, and respond later when I've re-read your comments.
I didn't ignore everything you said about Eloc and Auron - I answered that with the second half of my last sentence. As I said, blocking isn't be the be-all end-all and the solution to all cases.
I don't believe there was anything wrong with removing the text - an admin requires various amounts of discretion, and anyway, NPA leaves some room for removal. I don't think it's my place (me, personally) to comment on Aiiane's actions.
As to the "in-crowd" -- GWW has a large variety of personalities in the sysop role. We aren't all one and the same. There's no "in-crowd", we may just agree on some things and disagree on others, just as all users do. Just because they are sysops doesn't mean they are a part of some cabal. -- Brains12 \ Talk 01:37, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- As an answer at around 3.00 in the morning:
- I think Tanetris' block was justified in that you seemed to create fuss on the arbitration talk page for a laugh, as you also said on your talk page. That's trolling to me. Your personal attacks were still attacks, even if you disguised them with *NPA DELETED*. You say that personal attacks aren't personal attacks when they are directed at a person -- it's still an attack though, and I think it is general asshattery and being a "dick". The best way to articulate a block for that with limited space on the block form is "NPA".
- Shadowphoenix's contributions are definitely done with good intent, I'll give you that. However, it's not a user's role to enforce policy. That was generally consented to after Eloc's issues with you (Ryudo), and with Liche. Eloc has stopped enforcing now, a vast improvement on his part. However, Shadowphoenix continues to feel the need to enforce policy despite it being consented to that that's not a user's place - notify, yes, not enforce. She was told not only by admins, but by users, even Wynthyst who Shadowphoenix may regard as one of her closest wiki-contacts, to stop enforcing policies and leave it to admins -- as I said, which is effectively concluded through consensus. -- Brains12 \ Talk 01:53, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
I appreciate the support, but I have to say I am a little frustrated with Tanaric at the moment, because yea... he extended my ban from 2 days to a week because I evaded my ban for more details about the first ban... Okay, fine. If I'd have let it be then my ban would have ended yesterday. However, because I did file for an Arbitration with hopes of bringing some of the apparent double-standards and hypocrisy to light... and as a result, as punishment for asking for the Arbitration, I am now to remained blocked (except for my Arbitration page) until Tanaric gets around to finishing my arbitration... which he seems in no rush to do.
Yea, I can post else-where technically, but he'll just use that against me for a reason to ban me again... and yea, I can use MultiProxy to hop around as many blocks as they can throw forever, but I really don't want to have to do that, and become exactly what they are trying to make me out to be. I had issues with one user, three instances where things might have gone a little to far with her, but otherwise I've been a rule-abiding and helpful member of the wiki, who just happened to take a couple months off at the beginning of the year.
Yes, I've made mistakes, like everyone else... but I have to agree with you guys that their wiki needs a serious rehaul on the rules and policies, and some changes need to be made about the way they handle things like bans.
J.Kougar 01:58, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Kougar, I kno we are not the best of friends; but I see some of your points at how the admins handled it. GWW does need to start re-thinking how to go about using the administrative powers, Ryudo's block was not needed; and the request (or thought) of perma. baning someone like Kougar for doing very similar things that Auron has done, is not needed either. --Shadowphoenix 02:12, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, and Kougar, Try to at least not waste your blocks, we share some of the same proxies it seems and I lost a couple from your constant circumventing, lol.--Ryudo 05:00, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
People hate Auron because he's right, tbh. Anyway, this is why I still stay away from GWW. GuildWiki: Less Trouble Here!
(T/C) 22:35, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Should I?
Im considering circumventing and hoping on the "Im leaving this wiki" bandwagon, since you and dom did it. Figured Id leave a note on my user page. Maybe if a 1/2 decent number of people do it a point will be made? hmm...decisions...--Ryudo 04:31, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, hopefully when all their good users convert to GuildWiki they will get what we are talking about. --Shadowphoenix 04:34, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] lol, wow, im hated
I love how when I left GWW, it was "really low of me to blackmail the wiki by leaving" But when shadow and tan and dom left in the same day it was "boo hoo, please come back we miss you."
Guess I seriously piss people off, lol--Ryudo 02:46, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Nah man. I like you. Vael Victus 01:21, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, Tanaric leaving actually has real consequences. That's not to say you and others are not valuable, but it is not a fair comparison either.
(T/C) 06:05, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Lol, I wont argue that. Still, when shadow and dom left everyone started crying. I left and its all "dont let the door hit you."
- Well, Tanaric leaving actually has real consequences. That's not to say you and others are not valuable, but it is not a fair comparison either.
meh. just a wiki, no big deal.--Ryudo 06:40, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
