This is a PvE build for the beginner dervish (approx. level 10 and under); therefore it has no elite, uses less than 100 attribute points and only uses those skills available early in the game. This is also an example of one way to utilize the unique abilities of this profession. When you are at lower levels, scale attribute points as necessary.

[edit] Variants

• Meditation is used for health and energy management as well as an enchantment removal, but can be replaced with another skill if you feel comfortable with the health and energy regen from Vital Boon and Mysticism. Replace Meditation with:
  • Faithful Intervention for set it and forget it healing.
  • Mystic Sandstorm or Winds of Disenchantment for spike damage and conditions on enemies, while giving you a health and energy boost. Remember to cast all enchantments first.
  • Signet of Piety, Imbue Health, Watchful Intervention, Vow of Piety or Mystic Healing for healing party members.
  • Whirling Charge for a speed boost.
  • Any skill from your secondary profession.
• Replace Aura of Thorns and Heart of Holy Flame with any enchantment that deals damage on activation, and a condition on ending.
  • Using Earth Prayers: Staggering Force, Dust Cloak, Mirage Cloak.
  • Using Mysticism: Veil of Thorns, Heart of Fury
  • If you want to go with Wind Prayers you can use Grenth's Fingers.

• Replace Resurrection Signet with a better resurrection skill from any appropriate secondary profession.

• Armor: any armor you like. The Dervish Attribute Headgear with + to Scythe Mastery.
• Weapon: the best Scythe you can get with a "Guided by Fate" Inscription. (+ to damage while enchanted )

[edit] Usage

• Before aggroing mobs, cast Vital Boon.
• Engage enemies. When 3 or more melee attackers are around you, use Eremite's Attack.
• Now you have 2 choices on how to proceed:

• Cast Aura of Thorns then Twin Moon Sweep. Follow with a Heart of Holy Flame and Pious Assault combo.

OR

• Cast Aura of Thorns and Heart of Holy Flame. Let a few normal attacks hit, then follow with Twin Moon Sweep and Pious Assault for spike damage.

• Because of the long recharge time, try not to cast Pious Assault unless you have a covering enchantment on you. If you need energy, cast Meditation. If you need health, use Pious Assault several times to remove all enchantments, then use Meditation. Remember to recast and remove Vital Boon as necessary. Throw in Eremite's Attack as energy and recharge allow. Repeat the enchantment, Pious Assault and Twin Moon Sweep combos, until all enemies are dead.

[edit] Counters

• Skill shutdowns, such as Power Block.
• Anti-caster hexes, such as Backfire or Spiteful Spirit.
  • For anti-caster hexes, assuming there’s no appropriate skill from your secondary, you could still use scythe attacks until they wear-off, but watch your health.
• Energy denial and Anti-melee, such as Spirit Shackles and Empathy, mostly an annoyance if you are paying attention.
  • For Energy denial and Anti-melee you could stop attacking and still do damage to nearby foes by casting the enchantments and removing them with Meditation.
• Enchantment removal is not a problem since removing the enchantments triggers the ending effect (a condition or health) and gives health and energy from Mysticism.
