From GuildWiki

I joined GuildWiki mostly out of love for the way wiki communities work so well. What better way to express my appreciation than by becoming a contributor! So, here I am.

[edit] My Guild Wars existence

I am fairly new to Guild Wars, having just purchased Prophecies in August of 2006. I generally play only once or twice a week, and my significant other also loves Guild Wars... too bad we don't have two game-capable computers! I do enjoy spending time here at GuildWiki while he's playing, though.

I play only PvE so far, but once I'm more confident I'm sure I'll get into PvP. I loved PvP in my old days of playing text-based RPGs (specifically, at a MUD called Aarchon).

[edit] Campaigns

I got Prophecies in August 2006 and Nightfall in October 2007 (which unlocked the Bonus Mission Pack). I got Eye of the North when I saw it at Future Shop for $9.99 in June of 2008. I am looking forward to getting Factions someday, but I have a lot of things to do in what I have already so I'm in no hurry. Interestingly, I somehow have all four of the storage pages available to me. I'm not sure if it was some kind of bug, but I definitely appreciate it! :)

[edit] Characters

I've been enjoying naming all my characters after colours...

My Tyrian Characters (Prophecies Campaign)

My Elonian Characters (Nightfall Campaign)

My PvP-only Characters

[edit] Attitude

  • I love exploring, and occasionally go off by myself with some henchmen or heroes (ohh I love heroes!) so I can accomplish this. I love it when I am fortunate enough to be partnered with a person who feels the same way!
  • I love being a part of a good party that works well together. When I'm low level, I hate being rushed through an area by level 20's uber-pwning everything before I get to help.
  • I love the fact that I can play with my sister, who lives 5 hours away!!
  • I love trying to understand the game mechanics, and seeing how the Guild Wars developers have handled various tricky aspects of multiplayer gaming. This stems from my previous existance at Aarchon, when I was an immortal who helped with programming. I love learning, in general, which is probably why I love GuildWiki so much... it has already helped me learn so much about the game!!
  • I am semi-social when I am in a group: I like to comment on things a lot, but I don't care to know where everyone's from, or junk like that. I guess, in a sense, I like the roleplaying aspect... the things I say are often perfectly reasonable things that Scarlett Carmine might say (except if I'm commenting on some aspect of game mechanics).
  • I hate spam of any sort. I hate that selling items seems to have to be done via spamming of the information, and I hate when people spam many times in a row just to get themselves heard. I hate that guild recruiting is done this way too. Most of all, I HATE ALL CAPS. :P
  • I also get annoyed when people are announcing that they are looking for a group, and they don't say anything about themselves. The first question that comes to mind when someone is looking for a group is what level and profession they are. As soon as I realized that I wonder that, I started including my info when I'm announcing LFG.
