[edit] DUN DUN DUN!
Yes, that's right, I've fallen to the dark side... my World of Warcraft Battle Chest should be arriving sometime this week. Peer pressure FTW. So I'll be rigging up a page on WoWWiki soon, much as I really don't like that site (seriously, it's like Guild Wars Wiki only worse - guess the awesome people here at GuildWiki and the clever folks over at the UESP have spoiled me for wikis). I will keep playing GW, though! I couldn't just abandon all my babies, 'specially not right after buying space for a new one. Just gotta figure out how to divide my time.
[edit] Fun with builds
This is where I get to demonstrate (and potentially frighten people with) my strange (somewhere between Noob Who Takes Advice but Proceeds to Make Bad Builds on the low end and Creative, Unique, and Generally Inspired but Not Clever Enough to Become Popular on the high end) gameplay and build-making style, because I have nothing better to do at the moment.
[edit] Attuned Qing
This is my old reliable for my rit. I sometimes run her Channeling just for kicks, but this is what I use whenever I need to do something right. It's probably the build I'm most proud of, because it actually works very well despite being made from scratch like all my other ones (which range from mediocre to fairly effective). The bar presented here is the PvP version - these days I usually take Summon Ruby Djinn or Pain Inverter in place of Spirit to Flesh, because it's a pain in the arse to time when you're fussing over keeping everyone's red bars tip-top. Other than that, though - I've been working on some variant of this build since before I even capped AwS (HUUUUGE help with e-management), and I've only just now refined it (added Life so I could trash Mend Ailment, traded out Heal Party for Cure Hex). The only build I really get compliments on, excluding my Hero Monk build (I'll throw that up here sometime).
[edit] (Untested) MoR Axe Jenna
Sooo, remember my old MoR Blades build that got accidentally nerfed by ANet? Well, I finally thought up a replacement for it. Just have to pick up the axe skills and find myself a fiery axe, and I can test it out.
[edit] Uberderv (New Build!)
So, I made this build to try out for farming, and I've now completely moved away from using avatars. When I can do 100+ damage on a single hit, WITHOUT using Asuran Scan, in the Realm of Torment... life is good. (Incidentally, did you know that about half the skills in Scythe Mastery are not in fact scythe attacks but ordinary melee attacks? Drove me nuts when I was looking at the scythe attacks quick reference to try and remember what Victorious Sweep was called.)
[edit] Standard Gui
This is the build I'm happiest with, aside from the one below. Works in every situation where MMing is possible, and Dash can always be switched out for a PvE skill if necessary. The Rez Sig is in a funny place because I never bothered to move it, really, and now if I try to switch it to spot 8 I get confused and try to use it to feed my minions, hehe. It does help having BotM on the end, though - easy access. I so rarely change it that I have no idea what the attribute levels are for anything but Death Magic. I'm thinking of replacing Shadow Refuge with Shadow Sanctuary anyway. Only a 1pip drop in regen, a longer duration, and an armor boost to boot. All that "sight" business is overrated anyway. [edit 11/18: Changed Shadow Refuge to Shadow Sanctuary as I had mentioned. Haven't tried it, but I'm expecting it to work well. Means I can spec 12 points into SR now, too. I'll still use the old build for AB, since Shadow Sanctuary is a PvE skill.]
[edit] (Theoretical) Anti-AotL PvP Gui
A crazy idea I had. It would probably work horribly, but who knows? Anyway the point is that this could be very nasty for anyone thinking to get ahead by using Aura of the Lich. Another elite option would be Grenth's Balance, to offset use of Verata's Aura and damage enemies in the process.
[edit] Mind Shock Jenna
Yes, I know the Air build (or as I call it, the Thor build) has much less synergy than the Fire one, but I usually only use it in low-level areas, or when I'm capping an air skill, or when I'm running with henchies, who don't care, and at the very least it's functional. Plus, it got me through Snake Dance at lvl 14, so I'm kind of attached to it.
[edit] Avatar Ebia
This is my derv, who I'm rather fond of (skillbars shown here are my top three favorite characters), even though she's clearly confused about what it means to be a dervish. She keeps Vital Boon up when she remembers, but generally only puts up Eternal Aura after she uses her avatar and takes it off right away, so she generally runs around with only one enchant on. That's why I'm actually not all that interested in Mystic Regen... I've got it but I'd rather just have the signet, which I've been using since the beginning and have since taught my newbie friend to use. If you keep it up right, you don't have to recharge it, so in Avatar of Dwayna with two enchants on 1 and 2 (I like Aura of Thorns for the second) and the signet on 3 you can do 1-3-2-3-1-3-2-3etc, you can be a pretty decent healer. I've actually had Ebia stand in for a healer if all else fails (like when we're trying to get lots of people through a mish and there's a required hero), and it's turned out pretty well. I might post that build someday; who knows?
[edit] (Theoretical) FC Dancing Healer
Inspired by something on I believe it was the Glimmer of Light talk page, and so named because all the skills can be activated without ending the dance emote (or any other sustained emote - /bowhead, /sit, /instrument - or attacking, IIRC). I can't attest to the practicality of the build (heck, it's got no rez), and it's not sustainable longer than 16 seconds at max Asura rank, but it would certainly be fun to try, now that my Mez has finally gotten herself out of Pre. Heck, with a pie or a celery one could substitute in some slightly longer skills, maybe some 3/4 sec ones or something.
