The time of the Old Gods is ended. Night has fallen upon Guildwiki.

In the beginning, Anet created the Game. And the players looked upon the Game and saw it was good. And they said "Let us build a land where we can celebrate and document this world, where all may contribute freely for the good of all. And GuildWiki was born.

Those were the times of the Old Gods. Gravewit, Tanaric, Fyren, Nunix, Karlos, and the rest. They bestrode the land and ruled with rods of iron, building a community fair if not free. Many flocked to the new land and for a while all was good.

But the humans of the kingdoms of GuildWiki fell under assault from the trolls and spammers, with their weapons of Flaming. One kingdom, known as "the Builds section" became almost completely overrun. The Gods were fearful that the terrible flaming would soon spread and destroy the other Kingdoms. In one night, Tanaric worked a mighty magic of awsome power. In the morning, the builds section was gone. Gone too were many of the Flamer armies, carried into a Realm of Torment. But with them too went many brave GuildWikians, and it is said that to this day they still contend in that far-off realm, which resounds to the arcane battle crys of "U R NOOB".

And for a while, peace reigned once more. But then Anet created a new world - an "OfficialWiki" - and many brave GuildWikians went to explore this strange new land, forever riven by the contending forces of the Janitors and the Authoritarians, with Anet reigning over all but not intervening in the internecine conflict. And in that land, the Janitors did gain the upper hand, the the power of the Old Gods shackled and diminished. And the Old Gods did fall out among themselves and contended mightily. And in those times did Karlos leave the world.

And then came the Great Betrayel. Gravewit had been seduced by the forgotten God of Wikiknowledge, Wikia, and brought that God into the World of Guildwiki to reign over all. The face of GuildWiki was corrupted and changed. The other Old Gods were enraged but powerless, and most left the mortal realm. Tanaric remained for a while at OfficialWiki, but soon he realised that the children had come of age. While he remained, all achievements would be Tanaric's achievements. Henceforth, the people must make their own triumphs. And he departed.

New heroes arose to continue the struggle at GuildWiki and OfficialWiki. And though the factions remain at OfficialWiki, slowly it inches towards a new consensus. And some heroes from OfficialWiki came to GuildWiki to continue the battle against the darkness. Some had left GuildWiki long ago, other hailed from OfficialWiki in the beginning. And there remains distrust between the new heroes of GuildWiki and the incomers, but both fight on the same side.

Night has fallen on GuildWiki. The time of the Old Gods is at an end. But after every night, there comes a new dawn.
