[edit] Builds
[edit] Build:A/Mo Dark Corruption Ninja
| Attribute Rank | |
|---|---|
| Dagger Mastery | 10 + 1 + 3 |
| Critical Strikes | 10 + 1 |
| Deadly Arts | 11 + 1 |
| Healing Prayers | 1 |
|
Optional |
Optional Should be something like Impale, signet of shadows, signet of malice, or sadist's signet. (too lazy to link those skills, sorry =_=)
[edit] Equipment
- Nightstalker's Chest and Legs with other pieces radiant
- Minor critical strikes rune, minor deadly arts rune, superior dagger mastery rune, rune of attunement.
- Any daggers work here, but because of the high dagger mastery the build requires, Shiro's Blades are my favorite to use with this build.
[edit] Usage
Use either expose defenses or dark prison on the target. Dark Prison works best on most casters to take them by complete surprise so they can't hit you from range. Expose defenses works best for non casters because they will want nothing more than to go in and bash you up personally, negating the need to shadowstep. After your target is hexed, use the 3 attack skills in order. With casters, hit them a few more times to discourage any attempts at healing spells. Then use signet of deadly corruption, and if necessary, the second after-combo skill you chose. Use deadly corruption within 9 seconds or the effects from temple strike will wear off.
[edit] Counters
A defensive spell (such as reckless haste) cast on you before you daze them could mean the end of you. If your combo doesn't follow through, you need to cast restful breeze and run.
[edit] Build:A/W Critical Sword Striker
This build is a critical defenses reliant assassin tanking build.
| Attribute Rank | |
|---|---|
| Swordsmanship | 11 |
| Critical Strikes | 10 + 1 + 3 |
| Shadow Arts | 10 + 1 |
In PvP replace critical agility with Way of the Master
[edit] Equipment
- Nightstalker's Armor
- Zealous (any sword) of enchanting (20%) ... either 15^50 or 15% while enchanted works here. Another possible weapon is Rajazan's Fervor.
- Any offhand focus (doesn't really matter) but i prefer my Grim Cesta with +45 health and +5 armor while enchanted, with +6 energy (req 5 soul reaping, so i get 3 energy, but who cares?) I think it was a collector item from outside Fort Ranik...besides, it looks cool.
[edit] Usage
This build is for taking on as many players as possible and coming out on top. It works best with warriors and rangers because of their reliance on stances, but also works well against assassins (before they run away), paragons, and is also somewhat good against dervishes. Casters are not recommended targets because you have no defenses against spells. Simply use critical defenses and spam all of your sword attacks. Wild blow takes first priority; use wild blow as much as possible to ensure you keep your defenses up. If you are secure enough while using this build, also use viper's defense from time to time, or to open the fight. This is one of the only tanking assassin builds, so its actually alright to charge headlong into a mob of warriors, rangers, assassins, and paragons, and expect to take most of them with you. It only takes one caster to destroy this build sometimes, so use caution.
[edit] Counters
Enchantment stripping. Try to keep shadow refuge or assassin's remedy on to cover critical defenses. Spike spells, as well as many conditions being applied at the right time will make this build fall quickly. Make sure assassin's remedy and shadow refuge are up constantly when you are under heavy fire.
[edit] Variants
Any build that puts wild blow with critical defenses.
[edit] Build:A/any Critical Disenchantment
This build is a critical defenses reliant assassin tanking build with the added twist of killing enchantment reliant casters.
| Attribute Rank | |
|---|---|
| Dagger Mastery | Critical Strikes |
| Shadow Arts | ? |
Dash could be replaced by Assassin's Remedy, or by Critical Agility when in PvE
[edit] Equipment
- Nightstalkers Chest and Legs, Radiant mask, gloves, and boots
- Zealous Daggers of Enchanting are preferred.
- Whatever runes are shown above.
[edit] Usage
This build deals good damage on its own, so just keep spamming your attack chain to keep critical defenses up. Keep critical eye up at all times. Also, whenever you see an enchanted foe, use Dark Apostacy, and the energy gained from critical hits with a zealous weapon will be greater than the energy lost.
[edit] Counters
If you don't swap dash for assassin's remedy, conditions from direct skills or spells could easily kill you. If you don't have dash, however, you won't be able to run away when the fighting gets too intense, and you won't be able to kill fleeing foes. It's a better choice, if you plan on surviving longer, to use dash to run in my personal opinion. Hexes and any melee shutdown spells out there will screw with this build. alot.
[edit] Variants
This build is far from original. I'm too lazy to look, but I'm sure that there's something like it out there.
[edit] Build:A/R Phoenix Eye
This build is a variant of the Eagle Eyes build on CVC's page (link below) for using the assassin's ability to land critical hits to interrupt your opponents with disrupting accuracy.
| Attribute Rank | |
|---|---|
| Marksmanship | 10 |
| Critical Strikes | 10 + 1 + 3 |
| Shadow Arts | 11 + 1 |
[edit] Equipment
- Nightstalker's Armor. Shrouded armor helps too, but you won't need it if you're thrifty with energy.
- Gargash's Recurve Bow is perfect, but a shortbow will work too. The mods don't even really matter.
[edit] Usage
My friend [| CVC ] tipped me off to the combination of Disrupting Accuracy and Way of the Assassin. I put some personal touches in and here is a build that will leave your foes stunned and usually dead. This is the amazing thing about this build... exactly 75% of all your attacks will be critical, and they will interrupt your target provided they hit. It's possible to go after tanks too, but if they throw up a stance it could ruin your fun. Just use the first 4 skills when you see a target and are ready to engage... use called shot and needling shot...use critical defenses if you need too...spam needling shot especially on targets under 50% health.
[edit] Counters
As usual blinding works wonders to destroy the performance of this build. Enchantment removal sucks. If you want to stay alive shoot them before they shoot you.

Casters are the preferred targets of this build to keep getting those critical hits on the squishy ones.
[edit] Build:D/any Vow of Regeneration NERFIFIED
This build will tank just about anything. Melee, casters, NPC's, real people... just about anything.
| Attribute Rank | |
|---|---|
| Scythe Mastery | 10 + 1 |
| Earth Prayers | 10 + 1 |
| Mysticism | 11 + 3 + 1 |
|
Optional |
Optional should be something along the lines of Balthazar's rage or Mirage Cloak (don't worry about the energy cost of mirage cloak, with 15 mysticism you should have enough energy by the next time you reapply enchantments.) In PvE you can get the most massive damage out of this build by using Aura of Holy Might. Due to an error with the skill's description (or the skill itself) it will give you a superhuge boost in damage and will furthermore convert it all to holy damage.
[edit] Equipment
- Windwalker's Armor.
- Any Vampiric Scythe of Enchanting with a Guided by Fate inscription. Icy Soulbreaker of Enchanting works well too.
[edit] Usage
Use Watchful Intervention and keep it up when you expect enemies to be sighted soon (same goes for conviction). Before they reach your aggro bubble use mystic regeneration, mystic vigor, vow of strength, and vital boon (in that order) because of their low cost. When you reach your target use Heart of Fury (or your optional skill). You have a 21 health regeneration, and while 9 is the maximum, it will counter any degeneration you receive. Make sure that you let enchantments run out before you reapply them.
[edit] Counters
Skills like Rend enchantments, Gaze of Contempt, or Well of the Profane are the mustard of your doom.
This build will tank very well, but enough degeneration or damage spikes will kill it easily. Spiteful spirit, insidious parasite, empathy, and to a great degree, blinding will hurt this build because you gain most of your health from each successful hit. Backfire will kill you if you aren't careful... if someone sneaks it on you right before you need to reapply enchantments you could easily kill yourself. Dazed... sucks... no blocking means every attack is going to connect, so interruptions can be fatal if timed correctly (this can be made up for to some degree with Mirage Cloak). Constant knockdowns also hurt this build very badly, limiting its effectiveness against enemies like Abyssals.
[edit] Build:W/P Dragon's Justice
This build is meant to use enourmous adrenaline gain granted by "For Great Justice" to successfully spike Dragon Slash every time you attack for 30 seconds. Resulting in you being a very dangerous, if rather fragile, close fighter.
| Attribute Rank | |
|---|---|
| Swordsmanship | 12 + 3 + 1 |
| Strength | 12 + 1 |
[edit] Equipment
Perfect Sundering Sword of Fortitude with Strength of Honor Inscription.
[edit] Usage
In PvP matches, most players will ignore the warrior until all other enemies are gone. They figure that a warrior is just there to distract them from the heavy hitters, and this build surprises them by being the heavy hitter. You will run in and spam Dragon Slash for around 60-75 damage per attack. In the brief 10 second window of opportunity that is provided by Warrior's Cunning, you can take down just about anything that relies on a stance to keep them alive. This build is not made to survive long term engagements. It is a build designed to keep you alive just long enough to kill the opposing player. It is not uncommon to kill someone and be badly damaged, then thought to be an easy target. The enemy will be taken by complete surprise, and will deal with a sudden boost in HP from Endure Pain, and will most likely die before he is able to finish you off.
[edit] Counters
Hexes like insidious parasite, empathy, spiteful spirit... Conditions like blinding, and over time, poison, bleeding, and especially deep wound will cut your time short.
[edit] Variants
Once again, not completely mine. I saw a variant that used "For Great Justice!" with Dragon Slash and i just had to put something together.
[edit] Build:A/E Nuker Sin FTW!?
This build is for using shadow form to become almost invincible while you cast spells point blank to wipe out entire mobs. Despite what it may look like this is actually not a joke... PVE ONLY!!!!
| Attribute Rank | |
|---|---|
| Fire Magic | 12 |
| Critical Strikes | 3 |
| Shadow Arts | 12 + 3 + 1 |
[edit] Equipment
- Shrouded Armor. Use a rune of attunement or two as well.
- Insightful or Swift fire staff of enchanting. I personally use an Insightful Lotus staff of enchanting which i got from a collector and upgraded.
[edit] Usage
PVE ONLY!!!!! Despite that this would be tragic to look at in PvP, it works in PvE because of that fact that artificially intelligent people are not as intelligent as REAL people. A mob of NPC's will try to kill you with shadow form on while you cast meteor shower, then they will (for the most part) stand under you while they take all the damage. Even if there are still some left alive, you have just put your group at a tremendous advantage. Now turn on the feigned neutrality, sit back, relax, and wait about 40 more seconds for your skills to recharge.
[edit] Counters
AoE spells, especially spells like chilbians will destroy this build utterly. If someone interrupts shadow form then the build is useless. Finally, touch skills are not shut down by shadow form.
