[edit] Note from the Author

I write. I enjoy writing, and writing has had an impact on almost every aspect of my existence. Essentially, writing is my Life, while Guild Wars is a sometimes welcome Diversion. My only request as you read this profile is to not make any edits, unless they are typographical.

Psychic Instability

  • Contemplation of Purity sometimes gives way to Tease, but not recently.
  • Words of Comfort can change to Poisoned Heart, just hope you catch me on a good day.
  • Pacifism in certain circumstances becomes Cultist's Fervor.
  • Conviction rarely reverts to Shivers of Dread, though it happens.
  • Feigned Neutrality becomes Dissonance when I am impassioned.
  • Life is frequently interrupted by Diversion, just not in-game.
  • Cry of Frustration can be replaced by Oppressive Gaze when directed toward a person.
  • Psychic Instability is occasionally interrupted by Blackout.

[edit] Guild and Gameplay

I'm a regular member of the Knights of the Blazing Phoenix (KOBP), which is a primarily PvE focused guild, and also the leading guild of an alliance that usually consists of at least 5 other guilds. Because few guild members regularly engage in PvP, most of my PvP experience is in Random Arenas. And, though I do not commonly compete against other players, I have spent enough time on the Battle Isles to earn a rank 2 gladiator title.

Most of my PvE time has been in Factions, which is where my Guild Wars experience began. However, I have since expanded my account to all three campaigns, both because I enjoyed Factions enough to make the investment, and so I would not be at a tactical disadvantage in competitive play. Also, as I believe that RPG games, even of the MMO variety, are about character development, all of my characters are roleplaying characters, as opposed to PvP characters.

[edit] Naming Convention

As you may have noticed, all of my characters share a common last name, and were created upon a standard given name/surname convention.

  • Syris, the first character created, was a relic from Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, in which my player character went by this name.
  • Angelina is based on my intent to portray an angelic image in this character.
  • Aurora was named after the Aurora Borealis, which was viewed with great superstition and as mystical until science explained the phenomenon.
  • Selena is loosely formed from "serene" an adjective that might be used to describe the monk profession in general.
  • Meleina is a highly distorted derivative of "Mimi," the name of my sister.
  • Malatrix comes from "malevolent," which means wishing evil or harm, an appropriate label for a necromancer.
  • Katrina is named after the infamous hurricane. As hurricanes are some of the most powerful destructive forces in nature, I found this name fitting for a ranger.
