[edit] Actual Meaning
His name means "I blush with good health". rubor is a deponent VERB and valetudo is in the ablative case (ablatvie of instrument, the good health is being "used"). I changed it in the article.
- Although... Vale Tudo (space in the middle) is unarmed combat with few rules, usually mixed martial arts.--Salamandra 07:20, 13 May 2007 (CDT)
- rubor, -oris, f means redness and is a noun. valetudo, -inis, f means good health, that's correct. these are two nouns in nominative case, so no relationship. rubor can't be derived from rubeo (which means 'get red', 'blush'). it would have to be 'rubeor'. rubor as such does not exist as a deponent verb. - Y0_ich_halt

- Bit random to mention tbh, but although it explains the likelihood of what "Valetudo" and "Rubor" mean, it isnt mentioned that it is in fact because they are both latin words. Could someone add a note/agree/disagree? Xav 01:37, 20 December 2007 (UTC)
- if you meant that the note doesn't say it's latin, there you go. ^^ - Y0_ich_halt
