Talk:Shame

does anyone know if a skill that fails because of shame will activate spells like diversion? in effect making it a long time cool down interupt.

If it doesn't activate, it won't be diverted — Skuld 04:02, 27 December 2006 (CST)

Is it worth noting that this skill prevents ressurection spells from activating? --70.158.51.100 18:19, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Not really, unless it prevents non-spell resurrections. Image:Felix_Omni_Signature.png 18:21, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, a most curious question. Hexes like Parasitic Bond and Reaper's Mark end on their targets when the caster dies because they affect the caster, is Shame similar in this regard? Will it end prematurely on caster death?Konradishes 11:50, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Nope, since the energy steal occurs when the target casts a spell, it won't. I'm almost 100% sure of this, but if you doubt me, I don't think it's too hard to test :).

Well, the way I see it is, Parasitic Bond ends when the caster dies because if it ended whilst they were still dead, the dead caster would need to somehow gain health while remaining dead. Same with Reaper's Mark ; no energy for a dead person. I wish I could test, but none of my guildies are on, and I highly doubt they would consent to send some of their precious time doing a test. Or they wouldn't understand what I was asking because they are newbs (plz note not n00bs)13:42, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Self Targetting

Has anyone confirmed it works when the target "self" targets? Does targetting their selves count as targetting an ally? Essentially can it be used to cover monks who self target to purge hexes?

If the spell they use includes the phrase "target ally" then it would fail due to shame. Lord of all tyria 11:29, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
