why is this called murder ball in a bunch of places? theres no balling up and murdering people...—JediRogue 08:14, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

The first form of this map type was called "Murder Ball". There was one relic in the center and teams had to try to get it back to their ghostly hero in their respective area. However, once the relic had left its spawn area by anyone picking it up, a timer started. Once the timer hit 30 seconds, whoever was holding the relic died. I can't quite remember if this also returned the relic to the central altar as well. Anyway, this map type was abandoned as it almost always spelled victory for the blue team, since they were able to capture a relic before the other two teams got near. Double-teamed snaring almost always ensured no relic was ever captured after this. Ruricu-sig (TalkContribs) 08:35, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
