Can anybody confirm as to whether the obelisk does anything in the centre of this map?

During a rather nasty experience with a griefer that lasted 20 minutes; I noticed the obelisk did absolutely nothing.

You can also walk through or back up into air if you walk on the Right or Left of the staircase overlooking the Obelisk.--Promo302 12:06, 21 June 2007 (CDT)
