Voting for/against the merge[]

For[]

I am for the merge, I will reformat it into being in a similar style to the Factions and Nightfall guides, if you want. —Alert 18:30, 5 February 2007 (CST)

People can be new to the game even after Pre-Searing. There should be some similar information or a link, of course, but I feel that the Getting STarted Guide should refer to more generally the Prophecies campaign, INCLUDING Pre-Searing, while Pre-Searing should be either a section( if it DOES get merged) or a seperate link (such as on the scams page)--Nami 18:46, 1 March 2007 (CST)

People can be looking for guidance in Pre-Searing and not be new. I am often referring back to the Pre-Searing guide to get to all the links about things I want to reference while I'm there, like where the collectors are, or the list of quests. --Qrystal 02:33, 31 March 2007 (CDT)

Pre-searing guide is not just for new players, this guide is not just for pre-searing. Pre-searing guide links to this page, no need to merge this page with a links page. Dylnuge 16:16, 19 April 2007 (CDT)

As above, although I suggest the main page link lead to here, and not the Pre-Searing article. Arkhar 18:13, 20 April 2007 (CDT)

I'm against this article in general I always find guides ruin your first time playing but this article doesnt even have useful info in it, if the player reads the little booklet you will know how to walk, trade etc but I do find the other article useful without this

Level 8 for leaving Pre?[]

If you do most of the quests in Pre, you are approximately level 6 or 7 before you enter the academy. I haven't yet played a character through the searing, but it seems to me from what I've seen of post-searing Ascalon that these levels are ok - Old Ascalon has monsters ranging from level 3 to level 6. So I have been advising new players in-game that leaving Pre at level 6 or 7 would be perfectly ok - was that wrong? I think that Old Ascalonmight get boring (and a player might skip over some learning opportunities) if he explores it at too high a level. --◄mendel► 17:10, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
