Talk:Damage Rating progression

From GuildWiki

For each attack, 60 points of damage from an attribute rank 12 non-caster level 20? That seems too much for me. I don't get it. What exactly is the table displaying? - Nilles 18:33, 23 April 2006 (CDT)

Damage Level, NOT damage. -PanSola 19:06, 23 April 2006 (CDT)
Okay, I found it. It's actually used in this equitation: AE = 2(EffDL-EffAL)/40. I think I get it. - Nilles 06:39, 24 April 2006 (CDT)

Doing some calculation, I found the chart to be incorrectly calculated.
EffDL = (5 × Rank) + (- 3 × [Rank - (Level/2+2)])
Say a lvl20 War with 16sword att. that is EffDL = (5*16) + (-3(16-(20/2+2))) = 68, not the 72 in the chart.
doing the math again on 14att and 13att, EffDL = (5*14) + (-3(14-(20/2+2))) = 64, EffDL = (5*13) + (-3(13-(20/2+2))) = 62.
However. if you changed the -3 from the DLbonus to -2, and you get 72, 66, and, 63 respectively. This correspond the number on the chart. So I am concluding the chart is miscalculated due to using wrong number in the formula. -cDog--70.190.126.41 15:18, 17 May 2006 (CDT)

Thanks for spoting that. I'll fix it later tonight. -PanSola, Table of The Lyssa Advocacy Front (sing) 20:23, 17 May 2006 (CDT)

[edit] Damage Rating Table - Magical

The row labelled "Magical" in the first table does not seem to take into account DRBonus, or perhaps it is based on the assumption that Rank <= Threshold? --Horizon Blue 03:45, 21 February 2007 (CST)

There is no threshold for magic damage. Only for weapon damage. --Fyren 09:41, 21 February 2007 (CST)
Makes sense. I have added this clarification to the damage calculation page as well. --Horizon Blue 17:49, 21 February 2007 (CST)

[edit] Expanded Damage Table

It seems there is a type for level 25. it jumps quite a bit then goes back down. I'll correct it. StatMan 18:14, 18 August 2007 (CDT)
