That fact that they drop an encrusted lodestone leads me to believe that they are golems, like the Crystal Guardians, not spiders. They don't drop a leg or a web. They seem to be automatons. What do other people think? --Karlos 21:12, 19 October 2005 (EST)

You're probably right, but I think unless the page is locked, there will be constant changes back and forth between spider and golem. Simply because of the name Crystal Spider. --Rainith 01:31, 20 October 2005 (EST)

Shouldn't they be classified as elementals? Most golems and golem-like creatures (enchanted and jades) drop the same collector items as their owners / creators. Most elementals drop some form of lodestone, and Crystal Spiders and Guardians also happen to drop lodestones. Someone could test Edge of Extinction to see if they're the same species as Enchanted, if they are then I think all of them should probably be reclassified as golems, and if they're not then I think spiders and guardians should be reclassified as elementals. I have heard of a few rare instances where these spiders have dropped a crystalline sword, infact i have seen a screenshot proving that the sword i bought was dropped by a spider, if only i had kept it. has anybody else heard or seen this? 82.17.101.86 12:01, 27 December 2006 (CST)

[edit] They use Shatter Hex

Just redoing that area in Dragon's Lair to cap from the mesmer boss and somehow Dunham must have broke though the hex breakers because I was damaged from Shatter Hex while standing next to some.
