I've been through nearly the whole area like five times and I also don't remember any Kappa. That's with and without every available quest there, too. If there are any, they must be hidden away in some corner that is out of the way, or they were already dead. (T/C) 11:18, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Nope, no Kappa here. I think OP mixed up this beach with the one near Gyala hatchery (part of Maishang Hills). At least during the quests "Stolen Eggs" you have 2 patrols of Kappa on the beach.-- -- ( talk ) 11:49, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Cool, confirmation. I think those are removed during Attack the Kurzicks! and/or Challenge of Strength, though I can't be certain since I always have all three active at once. (T/C) 11:50, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

There are (regular) kappa outside the Gyala portal, in fact 4 groups, under usual circumstances (both in normal and hard mode); one group is way off to the right where you have to defeat the special (elder?) kappas during Challenge of Strength. And good, someone removed the entry for kappa in the article. GW-Susan 20:19, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
