Rings Fortune

Rings of Fortune at the Dragon Festival

Rings of Fortune is a minigame that was originally opened during Dragon Festival 2006. The Shing Jea Boardwalk games reopen on Canthan New Years, Guild Wars Birthdays, Dragon Festivals, and on these one time events:

  • October 20 to 22, 2006 – Prior to the release of Nightfall.
  • February 23 to 25, 2007 – As part of Gamer Weekend.

Rules

Sixteen rings are organized in a 4 x 4 layout in which contestants may stand and costs two tickets per round. Every eight seconds, any player standing in a ring pays the two ticket cost. One ring is randomly chosen as the winner. Standing in that ring awards anyone in that circle twelve tickets. Standing in a ring in the same row or column awards three tickets.

Pan organizes games into groups of twenty rounds. Each full cycle takes a little over three minutes to run with a momentary pause to attract new players between cycles.

Odds

The odds of this game means that on average 15 tickets will be returned for every 16 spent.

This game is best suited to reach the Unlucky title with the least amount of gold spent; otherwise, Nine Rings is better.

If the player wants to get both titles, it is advised that this game be used to obtain losses and Nine Rings be used for ticket won counts.

See Luck titles guide for more detailed analysis.

Notes

  • If tickets are won, but the character's inventory is full, the tickets will be dropped on the ground near the character and assigned to them, much like loot dropped in an explorable area. After 10 minutes this assignment goes away and the tickets will be available for anyone to pick up.
  • Winning rings have the same animation as that of Rodgort's Invocation.
