The Rift Warden is a Wintersday 2006 and 2007 NPC providing access to some special quests during the event.

"Lo and behold, traveler! Watch your step! Grenth has breached the divide between the planes in a bid for victory in this year's Wintersday battle. In doing so, he has unwittingly allowed those from this realm to pass into the Underworld freely. It is my duty to provide passage to those of stout heart and mind...or those foolish enough to think themselves worthy. Which are you?"

• Killing these used to give you a Morale Boost in the Tomb of the Primeval Kings when it was used for the Global Tournament. These were then replaced by the Unworthy, and later by the Zaishen Elite
