• The lightning-riding part of this skill behaves similarly to shadow stepping, as opposed to teleporting.
• Unlike shadow stepping skills, however, skills queued while using Ride the Lightning are unqueued after the spell is cast.
• This skill, Summon Spirits and Ebon Escape are the only non-assassin shadow stepping skills.
• This is the only shadow step to deal damage and is the fastest recharging shadow step.

• The name of this skill is a reference to the Metallica album "Ride the Lightning", the title of which is a slang term for execution by electric chair.
