Overview

PvP Characters (PvP only Characters) are used for PvP only, opposed to Roleplaying Characters which can do both PvE and PvP. When creating a character, the player can choose whether to create a roleplaying character or a PvP Character. Most important, PvP Characters are limited to the PvP Areas (Guild Hall, Tomb of the Primeval Kings and Arenas. They cannot leave these areas.

Items & Skills

PvP Characters start with standard lvl 20 armor, items and can use all unlocked skills. Unlocking enhancements such as elite skills, runes and upgrades can be done either through a Roleplaying Character, or earning Faction and spending it at a Priest of Balthazar.

PvP Characters can use PvE items handed to then, but other characters cannot use PvP Character items, since they are customized.

Prebuilds

Guild Wars offers 13 prebuild PvP Characters, who have been successfully utilized by either the developers or top rate guilds in the past. While they might be a bit outdated, they still offer the new player an excellent way to start doing PvP without worrying about builds.
