A Pet Tamer is an NPC who will remove the animal companions of Rangers.

This is the only way to get rid of a pet once it has been charmed. Charm Animal or Comfort Animal must be equipped when you attempt to sell your pet. You cannot charm another pet while you still have a pet.

Except for the Prophecies campaign, which has only one tamer, there is usually one tamer per region in every campaign.

All tamers are located in explorable areas (probably because pets don't show inside outposts), but usually just outside a major outpost, in a safe, easy-to-reach spot.

Note Edit

• Pet Tamers will offer 100 for pets at level 20. Since the April 23, 2009 update tamers only offer gold for pets "caught out in the wild" and not for pets tamed in the Zaishen Menagerie.
• The update on March 23, 2007 enabled heroes to have their pets removed at pet tamers.
