• Both 'mallus' and 'funo' do not exist in such forms in Latin. However, 'mallus' could be a misspelling of 'malus'('evil', 'misfortune', 'injury') and 'funo' could likewise refer to 'funis' ('rope', 'cord'), so possibly it is a metaphor for how 'evil' he 'binds' (rope) people using his domination magic. It is also possible that his name means "I bind evil".
