Gate Guard Torin guards the gate to the Northlands in Lakeside County. If someone in your party has the Charr at the Gate quest active, he'll be positioned northeast of the gate, rather than right in front of it.

• Gate Guard Torin is replaced with Gate Guard Sebastein in Post-Searing. This suggests that he became Torin the bandit. More evidence is indicated by the fact that both Torins use the same shield, and that there are no other NPC's by the name of Torin in the game.
