Dialogue
- "There are so many beautiful flamingoes in this area. Have you seen them? We let them eat the pink shrimp in the bogs, which gives them their bright color. They're normally fairly gentle; that's why we were so startled when they suddenly became aggressive. First they chased poor Rahlon out of the south field, and now they won't leave! They attack anyone who dares tread close, so you had best steer clear unless... If you feel adventurous, I know the farmers would spare a few coins for anyone who could shoo the birds out of the field."
- Accept: "Bird is the word."
- Reject: "You want me to fight flamingoes? Is this a joke?"
Reward Dialogue
- "Excellent job, my friend! Those flamingoes should be tamer now that you've scared some sense into them. We managed to rustle up a little something for you, as I promised. I still wonder what got those birds so spooked...."
Walkthrough
Edit
It is easier to do this quest with other human players who can spread out and quickly shoo away the birds instead of having to clear all 4 sides by yourself. To start off, if there are Corsairs or Skales in the field, clear them first.
There are four points in the middle of the field that should have no Flamingos anywhere near them (roughly 1.5 times the size of the aggro circle). There is a rock in the middle of the field that serves as the center of the field. Using that rock as the center, use the /shoo emote, then walk up to a flamingo. It will scurry away. If you do not use /shoo this will take a long while as they will move away slowly.
Using this approach, chase away all birds in one area fully all the way to the edge of the field. Then proceed to the next area. Occasionally, a bird will trickle back into that area, so chase it away again. When all 4 points are simultaneously clear, the quest will update with success.
Trivia
Edit
- The Accept dialogue is probably a reference to the song "Surfin' Bird" by The Trashmen.
