Bandit Raid Dye Farming (Pre Searing)

From GuildWiki

This farm takes place just north-east of Ashford Abbey at a bandit encampment. To optimize the loot and number of enemies in this farm, it is advisable to have the Bandit Raid quest active. To further increase the amount of bandits at the bandit camp, pick up the Protection Prayers quest, if you are monk primary or secondary.

[edit] Guide

[edit] General

When you leave Ashford, make a run around the big wurm field toward a wolf. If you want you can go and kill this wolf or pass it and just go on. As a warrior, you can kill it for some extra adrenaline to move onto the bandit group and take them out easier. If you decide you want to take out all the enemies at the camp at once, including the 2 patrolling groups, run over there and hit them once and run into the main group. Having AoE skills help out how quickly you kill off all the enemies in the group.

Loot? Simple, ignore ALL non unidentified equipment (as this quickly takes a lot of room, and you end up spending too much time selling worthless equipment, rather than farming). Collect all Worn Belts and gold. Wait till you have a backpack full of unidentified items, then ID the whole lot, and sell.

Happy farming!

[edit] Primary Profession Guides

Warrior Primary: The best weapon to bring is either a good axe or a good sword. Using Sever Artery and Gash are very effective in killing the bandits. You can even make one bleed using sever artery, and then move on to the next one. When doing this, they should both die at about the same time. Alternatively, Cyclone Axe will charge plenty of adrenaline for you to use Executioner's Strike to kill many of them in two hits. Using an axe shortened the length of this farm to about one minute and a half minutes.

Don't be afraid to use Frenzy. As a Warrior, you have plenty of AL to withstand their attacks. Be careful to only use Healing Signet with Frenzy if you know you can take the damage, and still end up with more health than you had.

Elementalist Primary: Fire Storm will become very effective against them, but you need to make sure you can withstand their attacks, because you will often have seven or more of them attacking you. It is advisable to be a monk secondary, so that you can use Healing Breeze and Orison of Healing in conjuction with Aura of Restoration. With a monk secondary, you can also use Symbol of Wrath to optimize your damage output.

Another more effective way of dispatching the bandits is using Shielding Hands and Fire Storm, first aggro the group, then cast Shielding Hands followed by Fire Storm. By the time you're level 5 and if you put all your points into Fire Magic the bandits should be dead by the time Fire Storm ends.

Monk Primary: Essentially, go with the same plan as the Elementalist primary, only having your secondary profession being the elementalist. Retribution doesn't do anything so do not pick it up. Symbol of Wrath is a good choice, especially when fighting the Bandit Blood Sworns, as it will quickly wear down their health.

Necromancer Primary: As a N/Mo, aggro all the bandits in the vicinity, quickly cast Shielding Hands, then Symbol of Wrath. This will bring all the surrounding bandits down to very low health, Retribution will then finish off the remaining bandits with the help of Vampiric Gaze, and Bane Signet.

Ranger Primary: Ignite Arrows helps greatly, as does a pet who can help absorb damage. Use Troll Unguent to heal yourself.

Mesmer Primary The easiest approach is to use a Mesmer with an Elementalist secondary; the idea is much the same as the method used by an Elementalist primary. Fight one group at a time, using Fire Storm to defeat manageable groups of 4-5 bandits. Keep a healing skill handy, such as Aura of Restoration or Ether Feast. Empathy should be cast on another foe while dealing with another, if you aggro more than one.

Note: If you are a monk primary or secondary, it helps reduce the work done drawing and bring more powerful "Bloodsworn" Bandits if you have the Protection Prayers Quest active. When you attain it go back to Ashford Abbey to avoid making Farrah follow you and kill Alain. Instead do the normal farming technique however this time there will be more bandits.

How to stop AI flee (if it happens even though Pre-searing AI still stays in AoE)

E/Mo Dye Farmer Get Bandit Raid quest but do not finish it. Any build is fine as long as you have Fire Storm and Symbol of Wrath. With the Bandit raid quest, four Bandit Blood Sworn, four Bandit Raiders, and two or three Bandit Firestarters will spawn. Aggro the four Bandit Raiders by attacking them and then aggro the Bandit Blood Sworn. Use Shielding Hands and follow up with Fire Storm with Symbol of Wrath to finish the enemies. Flare any enemies that are still alive.
