You can see your current number of unspent AP in the Skills and Attributes menu (default key "K").
How to gain AP
You gain AP by two methods:
Every time you level up you gain AP:
- 5 AP for each level 2-10
- 10 AP for each level 11-15
- 15 AP for each level 16-20
This adds up to 170 AP at level 20.
On top of the 170 AP you can gain when you level up to level 20, additional AP are obtained by completing attribute quests. For Prophecies, these quests are among the more difficult and complex in the game and located in the advanced areas. In Factions, they are both on Shing Jea Island and can be completed before moving to the mainland. In Nightfall, they are both in Istan and are tied to the Sunspear rank.
There are currently 2 attribute quests in each campaign, giving you 15 AP as reward each. Characters are only allowed to take the two quests that are "native" to the campaign they started in.
The maximum possible number of AP you can reach with both of the above mentioned methods is 200, as shown in the table below.
Note: 20+ and 20++ mean level 20 plus 1 or 2 completed attribute quests.
Attribute Point Re-assignment
Attribute points can be re-allocated as the player sees fit in any Outpost or town. Although attribute ranks may not be decreased while in explorable areas, any available points may be used to increase attributes. (This is especially helpful after gaining levels while adventuring.)
To decrease the attribute points allocated to one attribute, simply press on the down arrow next to the rank. You can then use the released points to increase another attribute.
